Leaning on God

I can't not believe where our country is headed or should I say have become. I can not believe that grown adults haven't got it together enough to work out a budget for our country.  I understand that we can't keep spending money we don't have and I also understand in hard times but when you can't pay the people who protect your freedom because of a difference in opinion that is truly sad.  Being a wife to one of the fine men who serve our country and a mother of three wonderful children I really should be stressed or even panicked. But I really have a calm peace surrounding me, because I have faith. I can honestly say I am not worried if my kids are gonna eat or if we will have running water. I know I serve an amazing God that I can lean on with faith during any situation in my life. Why should we waste so much energy on things we can't control, why should we panic or get so upset when we can't do anything about it. In this situation it truly is out of my hands and all I can do is pray for our leaders to make wise decisions in a timely matter, lean on my God for comfort and have the smallest amount of faith that I will be provided for.  It says that if you have faith the size of a mustard seed you can move mountains. Matthew 17:20
You know how small that is. My mind can't even wrap around that but I do believe that God is in the good times as much as he is in the bad times and that he makes all things possible even the impossible. Nothing is to big for God. I just want to encourage anyone who might be feeling a little mangled from all the news about maybe not receiving a paycheck next week. Know that I am praying for you and  Please pray for comfort and peace to be with all the families of those who serve and please pray for the service men and women who may be worried about them during this time.

Finally got a Facebook page

So now I am full swing with the world. I finally got a Facebook page for my business. Yeah I know about time right. I think it is harder to post pictures and keep up with a blog than it is to make the stuf. Man it took me forever. But it is done and I am excited to see where this goes. I have so much fun creating and I have such high hopes for this. So I posted a bunch of bows and plan to work on posting more stuff this week. Here are some things you can find on my page. Please take some time and go over there and show me some love by liking it.  I really do appreciate all the encouragement I find from you fine people and I am truly thankful for all of you who follow my blog thanks so much.  Enjoy

Colorado Really?

Got some really sad news today so how do I deal with it....hhhhmmm I know goof off with my kids on the web cam. There were some really funny ones you know the kind where they make silly faces and what not but I didn't have one of those with all of us. So yeah about this sad news I am still processing it and well we got orders to go to Ft. Carson Colorado. I don't even know where to start on how I feel about it. I am not happy but I can't say that I am angry ether maybe a little sad but at the same time not really. Well enjoy the photos

I have found so much love in Tn. I found some of the best friends I have ever had in my life. I have a church here that has grown me so abundantly in my walk with God. I DON"T want to leave any of this. Happiness has always been a struggle for me to find however I have to say I do have  true happiness here. I know that a location doesn't define me and I am sure where ever I am headed will be filled with many happy moments. I am just trying to deal with the many feelings I have about moving. Yeah I was a milatary brat and moved many time through out my childhood, but just because I am use to it doesn't mean that it get's any easier. Yesterday as I opened the email my husband had sent I could feel my heart drop as I read the word orders. Yes we will be moving mid December to Ft. Carson and I am trying hard to find the good in it. It is just so hard to let go of this wonderful place. I will cherish the memories of this period of my life and who knows maybe one day we will be back. I still have a while before we leave and should make the best of it and maybe in time I will grow some excitement.  But for now I will look at my house that we just bought last May and start thinking of all the things I am going to have to do with it before it can go on the market. Just two days ago I was looking at it with eyes for design and making plans to decorate. I really really don't want to rent it out so I am praying for the new owners that will buy it later this year, they will indeed have wonderful neighbors and a wonderful house. I think this has been the first time I have regretted my burnt orange living room, I knew it would have to be repainted but never thought it would be this soon. So much to do and so much to think about. On the bright side at least my husband will be home for this move and I might as well just leave the boxes in the garage packed. Brighter things will come out of this.....I hope

Things I made for trade

I used to sell my cards on Etsy.com and I found success there well I found some. But I also found that my love of paper crafting isn't for sell. I became resentful towards my cards and even stopped scrapbooking all together. SO long story short I quit doing it so that I could do the thing I loved with the love I had for it. Now I still do paper crafting and I know that is where my heart is but I really enjoy making bows and I do it because it is fun. When I paper craft it is an outlet for relaxing to me. But with almost every other craft I do I do for some other reason. When I make beads I do it to relax as well but with three young kids I don't seem me heating up the torch anytime soon because that sounds nuts not relaxing. Laughing out loud. Anyways to get back to the point of it I am going to try and trade all my other crafts such as hairbow and knitted ware as well as jewelry on http://bit.ly/fYg97q  I am hoping that this doesn't take the joy of it for me. I have long wanted to start selling my hair bows. I think they are super cute and I have found a pretty cost efficient way to make them. So I could sell them for a better price that I have seen many people selling them for. I am always receiving compliments on them. I am gonna start trading them first and have listed I think 6 in my old etsy shop Ideadesigns.etsy.com just to see if anyone bites. I really would appreciate some feedback on them. Tell me if you think people would buy them tell me what you think of the price. Oh just tell me anything.

Life has been so chaotic lately I started off the year with getting my wallet stollen and that took forever to replace all the important cards such as id cards. Then spending 11 days in the hospital with my two month old baby who started off having rsv that then turned into phenomena. That was a roller coaster ride of hell. I am just so glad to be back in my own home and under my own sheets. With all this going on I wonder if life will ever return to normal. My husband has now been deployed to Afganistan for the last 6 months. I have been holding up pretty well until recently. I have managed to run the house hold with the kids and my volunteer work pretty well. But noe I have started get worried about how life will be when he comes home. I am not scared and believe me so I want him home more than anything. I just am worried about how life will be. Since he has been gone I have taken on everything and we have added a kid to the mix. I like to imagine that life is going to be perfect for us. But in all reality through this deployment I hardly even get to speak to my husband and when I do there is always some awkwardness there. Maybe because we speak to each other so rarely or maybe because he doesn't want me to worry so he doesn't tell me about how bad it is there. I don't know ether way but it make me think that might still be present when he comes home. Will I even be able to speak to my man once I have him in my arms. How will the kids react. I am just so over this deployment.

I found the coolest new web site where you barter you hand made objects for other handmade objects. I jut made my first trade for some little felt owls. I am so in love with this site you should check it out    http://bit.ly/fYg97q I happy because I have always thought that there should be a site like this. I have already posted like 6 of my hair bows. I can't wait til someone gets them.

Friends Wedding

So I have been working very hard on my Pay it forward gifts but at this time I have yet to finish one. Good thing I have all year right. No I do not plan on taking all year to do these how ever other projects have just taken president over them. My oldest daughter is turning 5 in a week. I don't know where time has gone I swear just yesterday she was a baby. I can't believe she has gotten so big and I feel like I have missed so much even though I have been right next to her for most of her life. We have been planning her Birthday party together this year. She is old enough now to know what she wants and she keeps reminding me of this daily. I have been so thankful to many blogs for all her decorations. I can't wait to post pictures for you guys to see.
Also one of my very dear friends is getting married tomorrow. It isn't a big ceremony as she just wanted something intimate and only invited her sister and me to take pictures. She plans to have a big wedding in the fall. I am so honored to be invited even if I am there to do a job. lol I made here this cute subway are as a small gift. I keep seeing this subway art everywhere and just know she is going to love it. She loves anything personal or handmade. I thought I would share as I get to take part in this wonderful moment in my dear friends life. I hope you guys enjoy as this took way longer than it looks. laughing out loud.

Paying it forward

So a few days ago I saw this on someones facebook page

PAY IT FORWARD 2011: I promise to send something handmade to the first 5 people who leave a comment here. They must in turn repost and send something hand made or bought if you are creatively challenged to the 5 on your post. The rules are simple, comment, repost & inbox your address & it must be sent out in 2011. Happy New Year!

I thought it was a sweet idea so I decided to take part in it. I finally got 5 people I am not sure why it took so long as many people on my facebook know I am a professional crafter. Maybe they thought all the comments were from different people. Any who I am so excited to be crafting for these dear friends. Some I haven't seen in at least 5 years, well since I was prego with my first daughter who turns 5 this month. The two that it has been that long are also prego with their first child. I always  am up for a good challenge and love to make baby stuff. I decided to make their gifts in the order they were received. So I am really challenging my self and making lace and ribbion flowered head bands. Wish me luck and I will post photos as the projects are done. Hopefully by tonight.

July 15, 2010

I found this nifty little article somewhere on the web and really liked it. I enjoy recycling and believe if we all do our part we can really make a difference in this world. I try to buy products that don't have a lot of packaging or a lot of stuff that can't be recycled. It takes very little time to collect your recyclables and in most citys they have a pick up. Where I live now does not have a city pick up however for a small fee you can have your recyclables picked up at your home. I actually don't have them come out because I live right across from a elementary school who allows me to take mine to them where they then have it picked up.  It may seem like a lot of work but in the end it is totally worth it.  Once it become routine it is super easy and takes less than a min a day. Anyways back to this nifty little article that I got from http://www.care2.com/greenliving/8-things-you-didnt-know-you-could-recycle.html?page=9
My next post is going to be on using paper scraps. I try and use every bit of paper as to not waste any. I will show some things I have found useful to do with them. Have a great day!!

By DivineCaroline via EcoSalon
I have a large, shameful pile of junk in my basement that has been growing out of control for three years. I try not to look at it when I pass it, because when I do, I inevitably feel that flush of guilt: “Why haven’t I recycled this stuff already?” But for many items, from packing peanuts to old scraps of carpet, it’s not as easy as putting them in a curbside bin. Sometimes it seems like an awful lot of effort just to find out whether something can be recycled at all, let alone how or where.
But don’t give in and toss those questionable items in the trash! You might be surprised at some of the things that can actually be recycled. Turn wine corks into flooring, trade in energy-sucking holiday lights for LED strands, and transform your old sneakers into a tennis court—sometimes it’s as easy as simply dropping them in the mail.
1. Wine Corks
If you can’t bear to throw away wine corks and tuck them away in a drawer for some craft project that will never materialize, here’s a tip: send them toYemm & Hart Green Materials. They’ve started an experimental wine cork-recycling program that processes the old bottle stoppers into lovely, environmentally friendly cork floor and wall tiles. Eventually, they hope to actually pay people for their corks, but for now, do it out of the kindness of your heart. Check out these five other creative reuses for old wine corks.
2. Books, DVDs, and CDs
Most people don’t toss their used books, DVDs and CDs in the trash, but buying new consumes unnecessary resources (and a lot of cash), so why not trade your old ones for something that’s new to you? Swaptree.com is a cool Web site that allows you to essentially keep a constantly fresh, rotating selection of reading material, movies, and music for zero dollars. Who doesn’t love free stuff? Just sign up, list your unwanted stuff, and choose the items you’d like to receive. Then, you simply complete the swap through the mail. Easy!
3. Shoes
They’ve been through a lot, from dog poop at the park to downpours on the trail. It wouldn’t exactly be charitable to donate your grimy, rough-looking trainers, but a landfill isn’t the answer, either. Nike is happy to take your rubber-soled shoes—no matter who made them—and recycle them into new athletic surfaces like basketball courts and running tracks. Find your nearest dropoff location at the Nike Reuse-A-Shoe website.
4. Foam Packing Peanuts
Nobody with eco-minded tendencies likes receiving a package full of polystyrene packing peanuts. They’re made from petroleum, and aside from that, they’re just plain annoying and hard to get rid of. Instead of sending them back out to be somebody else’s problem, give them to people who actually want them: EPS recyclers. Polystyrene packing peanuts and molded foam cushioning can either be dropped off at a local location if you have one or sent in the mail.
5. Carpet
Whether it was ripped out of a flooded room or just saw more than its fair share of pet stains and baby vomit, old carpet can be pretty gross. Unfortunately, getting rid of unwanted carpet isn’t always easy, but if you’re lucky, you might just have a carpet reclamation company in your area. Check out the map at CarpetRecovery—you could be able to give that shaggy rug new life as composite lumber, roofing shingles, railroad ties, or automotive parts.
6. Holiday Lights
You want the green cred—and lower utility bills—of LED holiday lights, but just can’t justify buying new ones yet. That’s cool, use what you have, but when those old strands give up the ghost, send them off to HolidayLEDs to be recycled and you’ll get more than just do-gooder satisfaction. They’ll gift you with a 15-percent-off coupon for anything on their site, so you can get the twinkly LED lights of your dreams.
7. Bras
Maybe you’ve grown out of purple polka dots (figuratively) or grown out of your old size (literally) but either way, don’t toss that bra. Most of us take a selection of clean undergarments for granted, but there are plenty of people in need. Bosom Buddy Recycling will take your old bras and give them to deserving women around the country including women’s shelters, transitional housing, and breast cancer-survivor support groups.
8. Prescription Medication
Our water has a drug problem, and as a result, we’re all taking in way more medication than we bargained for. Drinking water in many major metropolitan areas is contaminated with all kinds of pharmaceuticals—from antibiotics to antidepressants—and it’s not just the result of them passing through our bodies. Instead of flushing your prescription meds down the toilet, donate drugs that are still usable. Not every state has a recycling/redistribution program or allows patients to donate directly, but it’s worth a shot. Check out the list at NCSL.

Ice Cream You Scream We All Scream For Ice Cream

I Made this cute little card for my dear friends birthday this weekend. I used the sweet treats set by stampin up. I have been wanting a ice cream set for such a long time and finally stampin up made my wish come true. I just love the little cherry that comes with this set. Of corse right. There is just so much you can do with this set. I also love the color combo of Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight and Cherry Cobbler. These are such cute colors, and to think at first I was so upset when Stampin up changed their colors. I a now in love with all the newbies.

I have really been challenging my self lately when making cards to add more layers and do stuff that is typically not my style. This card is so me but not something I usually do. I am so happy with the results of it and think it was so worth it to try something new. I hope everyone enjoys and has a wonderful day. Also I hope you guys step out and try something new today, God Bless

Vintage dresses

Timeless vixen

I am telling you that I should of been alive in the 50's. I just love all the styles of that time. Especially the dresses of that time. I also love the handbags and such as you probably already know.  I found all these dresses in my new favorite vintage shop called Timeless Vixen's etsy shop. You can check out the store here. I am in love and wish I could buy one of these. They are all so lovely. I love to wear dresses even if it is just to go shopping. It doesn't have to be a special occation to throw on a dress. I love the girlie side of me. I hardly see people in dresses anymore so when I wear one I probably stick out a bit, but I don't care because I am most comfortable in a dress. If I owned enough dresses I would wear one  everyday. My husband and I have recently really gotten be the era that I should of lived in. Maybe it's the style or the old fasion ways of everyone. I don't know. I can't get over how they smoke everywhere and all the time. They wake up in the middle of the night and light up. I think that is werid but maybe that's because we live in a time where smoking is looked down upon. Ether way it is a great show.

So the weather has now moved from warm to cold here in Tennisee, and the leaves are finally starting to change and fall. I can't wait until the ground is covered and I can take the little ones out for a falltastic photo shot. I really enjoy this weather a lot. I am origianally from Texas and it doesn't really get that cold and the leaves change from green straight to brown. Don't get me wrong Texas has bueaty all it's own but when it comes to autum and winter there just isn't much glory there. At some point I am going to post some photos of this place. I just havn't been much of photographer latley well I haven't been much of anything lately. But that is okay because like the seasons that are always changing so are my moods and hobbys. What will come next, I don't know I am now working on my Christmas gifts and cards. I am just trying to have fun with it. I know this is random but I try to have fun in everything that I do. I hope that you get the chance to do that too have  a great week everyone.

I just love earrings. I did this post because I am in need of some earrings. I sadly own only one pair. I know sad right. When we moved my children got into my jewelry box. Need I saw more. Well vintage is back and what better place to find vintage and handmade vintage items but etsy. I love that site as you can tell. I can spend all day on there. There were many other earrings I saw and really could of got wrapped up in todays post.

Anyways I want to apoligize for the lacks of posts lately I have really gotten my self wrapped up in my bible lately. I have also started to help out with my churches youth group and I am now preparing to go back to school. Yes I am a busy little bee.
I am in a hard place in life right now because I feel god tugging at me to do one thing but my heart is pulling another way. I know in the end that gods will, will be done. But I feel him leading me away from my on-line stores to focus on other things. This is sad for me, because I so love to create things and really enjoy selling on-line. Maybe a break from it, is in order just to figure out what I am needing to do. I am still going to hold up the blog and even start some give-a-ways real soon. For the time being I will post twice a week, once on Tuesdays and once one Fridays. Just a quick reminder to you guys. You can click on the pictures to take you to the item, and you can click one the Here to take you to the store. I also want to thank all my followers for following. You guys mean so much to me and I hope you have a blessed week.

September 28, 2009

I just love all these little creations. My daughter has been gaining an interest in Mushrooms so in light of her curiosities I have decated todays post to that.

Well blogger has change a bit, so it will take so getting use to for me to get back into the swing of things and post shop names with the photos.  I am also trying to find a design that goes with my personality and the personality of this blog. I am have been left behind by the technical advances so it will take me time to learn how to designs this the way my brain has it pictured. But all in good time. I can't wait til payday when I go to buy some of those computers for dummies books.

This weekend I took part in a run to raise Awareness of child trafficking. It was hard for me to run for I am so out of shape. But it felt good when I finished. Not only body wise but soul wise to. Sometime I forget how good it is to publicly support out believes. It has been so long since I have done anything to better the world. I had a once believed that I would of accomplished so much good in this world that my tombstone would read some like... She dyed trying to save the world.. I know I giggle too. But somewhere in life I forgot all the dreams I had. I put them on the back burner of life and followed the path that was there for me to follow. I want so bad to create my own path. I am not saying that I am not creating my own life as I am sure I add wear to the path I am on now. I feel I am leaving a mark that shows I have been there. Something. I just want to add so much to this world. I want my life to impact...I am not sure what. Maybe that is why I haven't strayed far from path that was pre-designed. The cookie cutter life I am leading now. Please don't think I am in anyway that I am  putting down my life now, I love it and feel very blessed to have it. However I just have had this longing for as long as I can remember that I would do something big. I am not sure exactly where this rant is going but I felt an urge to share this with you guys today. So that is what I have done. I know that it seems like an incomplete thought (at least to me) but that is all I have at this time. I hope everyone has an awesome week.

Oh my word, these would be perfect to add to just about any crafting project...Made by asecinc.etsy.com and they also have them in a bunch of other colors..

This is super cute.. I love the fabric that was used and the giant eyes, Made by ManicMuffinTotes.etsy.com

When I was a little girl my family would take trip to Georgia most summers. I had a great aunt that we would visit while I was there. She collected owls and had a whole room dedicated to her collection. Every time we would visit her she would give us a tour of the room, I always looked forward to this. I loved to see the many different owls that she had. I have been a collector of many things but never of anything that I could dedicate a room to. I miss this time in my life and have been thinking of these trips we use to take.
My aunt is gone now but the memories she gave me are always on my heart. I think of her at times and I think of her collection, as anytime I see an owl I think of her. It is funny how things can lead to memories of a person, I like that about life. I wonder what things when seen bring people to think of me?

It is coming. Yes Halloween and I can't wait. Something about the kid in me still enjoys dressing up even if it is just to hand out candy or take the little ones trick or treating. I really love it and the fact that I still look like a middle school kid dressed up allows me to really stock up on treats. I still get a kick out of it when all the adults tell me that my little sisters are sooo cute. I don't even bother telling them that they are my children. Too funny.
To me today is like Monday because of the holiday so I am starting my week off today. I am excited as I will be posting new items to my shop today and posting a few things to my new store. I have alot of exciting things happening for me right now. I hope that exciting things are happening for you too. If anyone has good new please share by commenting it I am sure we all would love to hear it. Good day
